Benji is one of the most talented cricketers to have represented Scotch College in the Cricket programme in recent years. He has performed exceptionally for the First team over the last three seasons and demonstrates batting maturity beyond his years. Benji was elected as Vice-Captain for the 2021–2022 season and played an integral part in creating a strong team culture.
At the conclusion of the 2021–22 season, Benji finished second on the PSA Darlot batting averages, scoring 504 runs at an average of 45.82. He achieved his highest score of 92 when playing against Wesley College in Round 13.
Whilst maintaining his responsibilities to the College, Benji’s achievements in Cricket beyond the school included being selected for the WA Under 17 Development Squad in 2020 and in 2021.
He made his First Grade Debut for the University Cricket Club in January 2022 and is the youngest player to have done so since 1950. Benji has recently been selected for the WA Under 19 Cricket squad.
Benji is congratulated on his achievement of Honours for Cricket.

Jurgens (Jurie) Terblanche (Year 12 Anderson House)
Jurie has represented Scotch College in the First VIII Tennis team since 2018. His self-motivation, discipline and drive both inspired and motivated his team and was reflected in the College winning the Corr Cup in both 2021 and 2022.
In 2022 Jurie was Co-Captain of Tennis. He contributed significantly to developing the disciplined culture of the First VIII team and proved himself an empathetic leader. His encouragement and support of the more inexperienced team members and his willingness to demonstrate new drills and suggest alternative tactics were hallmarks of his leadership.
During the 2021–22 season, he played in Position 1 against the best players in the PSA and finished with a commanding record of having claimed 19 sets, only dropping five sets for the season. His results in top doubles, along with his team-mates, highlighted his commitment to continually improving his game and were a testament to his match fitness.
Jurie is currently a member of the SSWA Tennis Pizzey Cup team and is a deserving recipient of Honours for Tennis.

Nelson has represented Scotch College in Volleyball each year since Year 7 and has played in the First Volleyball team since Year 9, a significant achievement. Nelson’s extensive contribution to the programme was recognised in him being named Captain of Volleyball in 2022.
Nelson’s ability on the court saw him play any position to a high level and he worked tirelessly at training to learn the intricacies of each role.
In recent years, and beyond the College, Nelson has played in the State Volleyball programme and, in 2021, he competed in his age group in the State Volleyball Championships.
Nelson proved himself to be an outstanding leader within the sport. He was instrumental in Scotch College competing in the Indoor Schools’ Volleyball Cup and State Beach Volleyball competitions. He contributed positively to the establishment of a playing relationship with Scotch College and the Fremantle Fury Volleyball Club and in so doing, helped to strengthen the programme at the College.
We thank Nelson for his contribution and congratulate him on the award of Honours for Volleyball.
