Staff Trophy
The Staff Trophy is competed for by the 10 day Houses, across a range of events. It was introduced with the establishment of the first four Houses, Cameron, School (now Anderson), Stuart and St Andrews in 1940 and has grown exponentially in format.
There are three House Carnivals in which all students in Years 9 to 12 compete, namely, Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics and we also have a whole House Singing event. In addition boys march in their Houses most Friday mornings and these results also contribute towards the Staff Trophy. Other events include Debating, Drama, Water Polo, Surfing, Indoor Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Chess and It’s Academic, and competitions are run in Years 9 and 10 (Junior) and Years 11 and 12 (Senior). Points are also awarded for Marching across each term.
The Vice Captain of School – Operations along with each Vice Captain of House – Operations oversee and organise the competition with most events taking place at lunch times. All Year 12 students will have a portfolio of activities to oversee, providing valuable leadership experience. The Staff Trophy presents students with a range of opportunities to experience and participate in new and varied activities whilst representing and contributing to their respective houses.
