Communicating Student Progress
The College aims to keep parents informed of their son’s progress throughout the year via Parent Teacher Student Interviews and House Head Report Meetings. Teachers also use email and phone to communicate with parents on an informal basis when necessary.
Teachers, however, cannot always answer emails and phone calls immediately and where there are urgent concerns the Curriculum Leader may also be able to assist.
Parent Information Evenings
These occur early in the academic year to give parents the opportunity to meet each other and to gain an insight to the schedule for the specific year group.
Semester 1 & 2 Reports
Students are assessed and graded in each of their courses. The reports include a course mark, cohort average, course grade and when relevant an examination mark and examination average.
House Head Meetings
House Heads meet each year with the student and his parents to discuss his report, expectations and to assist the student in determining future targets.
Parent Teacher Student Interviews (PTSI)
Each student and his parents meet with the student’s teachers in an interview to review his progress. The purpose of the PTSI is to enable students to discuss their work with their teachers and parents. There is an opportunity to attend in person or have an online meeting. The Academic Services Officer can be contacted if parents have any further queries. The email address is AcademicServices@scotch.wa.edu.au and the direct number is 9383 6825.
Pathways & Partnerships
Each student in Years 10, 11 and 12 can meet with the Leader of Pathways & Partnerships to discuss pathway and career options. Parents are also welcome to arrange meetings with the Leader of Pathways & Partnerships.
