Student Achievements – 20 May 2022
Sebastian Houston (Year 11 Cameron) competed in the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships in Queensland during the holidays. At the conclusion of the tournament, Seb was selected into the Australian Cadet Squad (Under 16 Men).
Congratulations to Aaron Hugo (Year 9 Ross House) for his selection into the Eastern Phantom Junior League Baseball team competing in the National Junior League Baseball Championships in June.
Mitchell Hyde (Year 12 Stuart) competed in the Under 18 State Hockey, which placed first in the National Championships.
William (Bill) Eastman (Year 10 Anderson) represented Western Australia as a member of the Carine Cats Baseball Team in the Australian National Senior League Baseball Championships in Geelong.
The following students competed in the Australian Age Swimming Championships in Adelaide over the holiday period: Tex Cross (Year 10, Anderson), Xavier Smith (Year 9 Ferguson), Zachary Mills (Year 11 Stuart) and Daniel Boshart, (Year 11 Alexander).
Daniel made the finals in both the 100m and 200m Butterfly finishing a very impressive third and second place in those respective events and qualified to compete in the Open Australian Swimming Championships and is currently in Adelaide competing.
Xavier won the B Final in the 50m Freestyle and also made the final in the 50m Breaststroke finishing seventh overall.
Tex also recently competed in the State Surf Lifesaving Championships where he won eight events, including the U15 Board Relay with Charlie Davis (Year 9 Ross). Tex and Charlie then went on to compete in the Australian Championships where they placed sixth in the board relay and Tex finished seventh in the Under 15 Ironman.
Jurgens (Jurie) Terblanche (Year 12 Anderson) is competing in the ITF Junior Tennis Tournament in Darwin this weekend.
Charles McCarthy (Year 11 Brisbane) has been selected for the SSWA 16s Hockey team competing at the School Sport Australia Championships.
