Saami Welsh, Year 12 Cameron has been selected for the WA Under 19’s Cricket Squad playing (hopefully) in Adelaide.
In September, Ruan van der Riet, Year 12 Ross competed at the Open Short Course Virtual Championships and set a new State (WA All Corners, WA All Time and WA Residential) record in the 200m Butterfly in a time of 1:58:73. In December, Ruan competed at the Long Course State Championships and set a new WA Residential Record in the 200m Butterfly in a time of 2:01:48. (This record was held by Bill Kirby for 27 years).
Last December, Benjamin Scott and Heath Muller (both Year 12 Ross) competed in the State Debating team in the Australian Competition. The team reached the semi-finals, a very admirable achievement. Benjamin was also selected for the five-person team representing Australia in the World Debating Championship (which was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID) but they did debate against New Zealand and won.
