Year 7
In Year 7 students focus on developing positive relationships, self management and environmental stewardship. Students learn about the leave no trace principles and how to apply them to become more sustainable in daily life. Students are expected to focus on self organisation and how their own care will effect others. This is achieved through activities that require teamwork and perseverance to succeed.
Summer Term
Students take part in four classroom lessons to prepare them for their Moray Programme.
Students attend a 4 day Programme (4 days, 3 nights ) to Moray camping in tents. Students will participate in the following:
- Canoeing
- Rock climbing
- Abseiling
- Raft building
- Cooking and camp skills
- Navigation
- Hiking
Autumn Term – An opportunity to be involved in the Scotch College State Orienteering team. Students will complete three training sessions before the championships.
Spring Term -Climbing Programme – Students use knowledge and skills acquired at Moray on a one day programme out at the cliffs in the Hills. Provides the students with an opportunity to climb and abseil on a natural surface.
