India Service Tour
Year 11 and 12 Community Service Tour to India
The India Service Tour runs every two years in December, with the next tour planned for 2021. This tour offers students an insight into the Indian culture as well as its political, social and historical context, but its primary aim is to provide Scotch boys with an opportunity to use their expertise to develop and deliver learning modules and teaching resources to students and teachers; resources designed to enrich the limited educational assets that exist in disadvantaged schools. The tour aims to provide students with an opportunity to reflect on issues concerning gender discrimination, poverty, justice, service and community development.
In the lead up to the tour, each participant will be responsible for fundraising, with all monies raised going to the Mukti Mission School, where the boys will engage with Mukti students, assisting them with their academic studies, organising and delivering sports programmes and serving at Mukti’s special needs school.

This is not simply a sightseeing tour; it combines community and service of a challenging nature with an opportunity for each student to experience a rich, unique culture and broaden his understanding of himself and his global community.
