Senior School
Service and Citizenship in the Senior School is designed to promote diligence, commitment and resilience and encourage every boy to reflect, question and consider the issues facing others in the community.
The Creative Action Service Programme is a central component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma model and encompasses co-curricular activities undertaken by our IB Diploma students.
Boys in the Senior School complete a programme of Service Learning during school hours in Year 10 which involves service partnerships with multiple external agencies working with diverse groups such as the mentally and intellectually disabled, the aged, the homeless and refugees.
Service action also takes place in House groups and through Student Council activities. By accumulating service points, boys are able to work towards awards of Colours and Honours for Service and Citizenship.
Senior boys also have an opportunity to participate in Service Tours to India and Tanzania.
Boys in the Senior School are eligible to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a world-recognised and respected programme that encourages students to develop new skills and show commitment to service action.
Boys in Years 9 and 10 have the opportunity to join the Cadets WA programme, administered within Scotch College.
