This Plan has been developed for and on behalf of Scotch College to establish the actions that should be taken in case of an emergency situation, including procedures for evacuation of the site. Emergencies detailed in the Plan are based on an assessment of potential emergencies likely to impact the organisation.

The College is open
- during school term: Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-4.45pm
- during school holidays: Monday-Thursday 8.30am-4pm
Boarding is open during school term 24 hours / 7 days. The boarding facilities also used at certain times outside of term time.
If phoning emergency services please be aware of the closest cross streets for the Swanbourne campus. These are:

- Junior School (including Early Learning Centre) – cnr Stirling Road and Knott Terrace

Emergency alarms
Our audible alarms are consistent with the Australian Standards. In the event of hearing any of the emergency alarms, persons are to respond as appropriate.
Evacuate alarm
The audible evacuate alarm is a long siren that rises in pitch, repeats and is interjected with voiceover announcements “Evacuate. Go to your evacuation assembly area”. Hear the Evacuate alarm.
Lockdown alarm
The audible lockdown alarm is similar to a police siren (repeating short ‘whoops’) interjected with voice over announcements “Lockdown. Go to your nearest ”. Hear the Lockdown alarm.
All Clear
The All Clear signal consists of a low toned buzzer sound, interjected with voice over announcements “All Clear. Wait for instructions from Safety Warden”. Hear the All Clear signal.
