Student Leadership
We encourage all our boys to be proactive in the Boarding community and provide many avenues for them to share their opinions or take an active role in the community. The two main programs that we have for our boys are The Year 10 Peer Mentor Programme and the Boarding Council.
Our Year 10 Peer Mentor Programme begins in Year 9 when we prepare the boys to become mentors for our New Year 7 and 8 boys. The programme is centred around reminding the boys what it was like to be new and what they felt really helped them to settle into boarding.
In Year 12 the boys have the opportunity to become part of the Boarding Council. The structure of this group is made up of the Boarding Captain, the Vice-Captains of Boarding and other students that have been identified as good role-models and leaders.

Clans
The Senior School Residence is divided into two Clans, Blair and Stirling, with boys from Years 9–12. Each Clan has a Head of Residence, an Assistant Head of Residence, a House Mother and a Student Leader (Vice Captain of Boarding). The Clans are a structure similar to that of House groups in the day school but is applicable only to boarding. Your son will be placed into one of these Clans as he enters Senior School and the Head of Residence will then take your son through the rest of his time in boarding.
The Clans are named after significant Scottish Septs or Scotch Boarding Alumni. The Clans promote opportunities
for boys from different year levels to mix together. We have a series of activities throughout the year between the Clans that accumulate points and this is designed to promote a group identity and a sense of belonging as well as a bit of fun!
