Combination 3
This combination is recommended to those students who are likely to follow a vocational pathway post-secondary school but have an interest in one ATAR course that will support their learning beyond high school. This pathway is also appropriate for students who are looking to obtain a degree in the long term, but initially require more support with their study than a university might provide. This alternative pathway to university supports students to enter TAFE for their first year of study and transfer into second year university at Curtin.
Students may choose this pathway because they find examinations and assessments that ask them to recall information taught over a longer period of time does not suit their learning style. This pathway has only one examination, therefore allowing students the study time needed to make sure they can get all their courses to a C grade or higher, improving their final transcript and ensuring graduation requirements are met.
Please note that students studying this pathway must enrol in the Certificate IV in Business in Year 12 if they want the option of applying directly to university. The successful completion of a Certificate IV in Business and the relevant English qualification (see information below) will credit students with the minimum entry requirements into university.
